DON VALLEY TRAILS PARK DEVELOPMENT

The former Flemingdon Park Golf Club in the Don Mills area is being almost entirely donated to the city in one of Toronto’s largest private land contributions to date. Most of the site will be handed back as open space for the public use, while the north end along St Dennis Drive is proposed for residential development. Two Row Architect will be working with Hariri Pontarini Architects for Citizen Development Group, Greybrook Realty Partners and Tercot Communities to develop designs influenced by the natural landscape of the site. Four colourful mixed-use condominiums would stand between 42 and 52 stories, and be interconnected at their base. The design will deal with the nearby floodplain and include an ecological restoration of the former golf course. Many amenities are planned for residents as well as the general public, and community consultation is an important and ongoing component of the project.
