The Kanata Interpretive Centre is designed as a collection of long houses found in and bound by an expanding series of circles. The steel structure braces the building not unlike wooden poles. The building opens on the left side and looks towards are creation of a 16th century village. The great circle which encompasses the entire building finds it’s centre in a small storytelling and exhibition circle which anchors the building to the site. The story circle also provides a visual link to the village with a path that extends out and into the palisade. The building is intended for multiple uses including the housing of artifacts, providing a venue for arts and crafts and to give focus to community activities and events
